CASA CENOTE

A home full of secrets, carefully reimagined.

Casa Cenote was a renovation project with a clear goal: to preserve the essence of the original Andalusian home while bringing in a fresh sense of calm, creativity, and surprise. The house is full of hidden doors — concealed within moulded wall panelling — that lead to unexpected spaces: bedrooms, pantries and storage rooms, an office, a spa, bathrooms. The idea was to keep the layout clean and social, but allow each room to be discovered in its own time.

The kitchen features a porcelain-tiled island and a hidden breakfast ladder and pantry, while a concealed door leads into the study, centred around OMEO’s own trunk table with a gold finish.

Throughout the home, oak is a constant — in shelves, staircases, tables, and the entrance door — softened by microcement, textured tiles, and warm antique brass accents. Natural light flows through each space, balancing the heavier materials and drawing attention to the details.

Outside, the garden becomes its own hidden world. With no sea views, we brought in white sand to create a private beach, inspired by the beaches around Marbella. A Bali-like atmosphere takes over with palm trees, teak and bamboo furniture, a hidden outdoor shower, and a sundeck with soft, natural umbrellas. At the far end, a bamboo-ceilinged gazebo hosts a lounge and dining space, complete with bar and BBQ.

The master suite overlooks the garden and pool-beach area, finished in off-white microcement with an ash oak four-poster bed, soft lighting, and integrated sound. The adjoining bathroom blends wood, layered tiles, antique copper fittings and double showers, with a ceiling that mixes carpentry and smooth finishes.

Guest bedrooms follow the same palette of oak, brass and microcement, with bathrooms in varied tones and softly arched mirrors.

In the basement, the surprises continue — a mint green terrazzo-tiled laundry, 60s-inspired entertainment bar, and a wine-tasting area that opens into a hidden Cenote-inspired spa. Inside, an indoor pool, plunge, sauna, and hammam are set in a cave-like space of stone, water, and filtered light. A gym with both indoor and outdoor zones completes the lower floor.
